Who We Are
The Pan-African Mosquito Control Association (PAMCA) Ghana Chapter (PAMCA-GH) is a Ghanaian member-based professional body that brings together stakeholders in the field of vectors and vector-borne diseases control. This includes scientists, public health professionals, vector control specialists, commercial partners dealing with mosquito control products, affected communities and other stakeholders such as students. The mission and vision of the chapter are in line with the parent organization which has its headquarters in Kenya. The association collaborates with these individuals or groups to adopt best practices for the control and elimination of vector-borne diseases, focusing on efforts in Ghana, Africa, and worldwide.
The Chapter currently has 10 executive members made up of the President, Vice-President, Lead Organizer, 2 Deputy Organizers, Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer, Secretary and Deputy Secretary and a Rep for Women in Vector Control who were duly elected through universal adult suffrage. The chapter currently has 94 local members most of whom are Medical Entomologists, Vector Biologists and Public health scientists.

Enhancing control measures based on Integrated Vector Management principles by favouring methods with low toxicological profile and low environmental impact

Promote of general public and authorities’ awareness about mosquito control and related subjects
Encourage the exchange of information and knowledge
Encourage the exchange of information and knowledge in accordance with the objectives of the Organization by publishing information on any events, exhibitions and meetings of the Organization
To raise, mobilize and disburse funds and other resources

PamcaGH chapter
core mandate.
PAMCA-GH core mandate consists of several pertinent goals. These are capacity building for vector-borne disease surveillance and elimination, building collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders in the vector-borne disease elimination agenda, dissemination of information/knowledge on vector-borne disease through conferences and best practices. Additionally, the association aims to strengthen the role of women in vector control to achieve gender empowerment, inclusivity, and equity. It also focuses on strengthening governance structures for organizational sustainability and providing support for national control/elimination programs through its members who are experts in various fields.
PAMCA-GH aims at connecting Ghanaian-based public health entomologists, public health professionals and other actors engaged in vector control in the elimination efforts in Ghana and Africa, working towards a common vision of “An Africa free of mosquito-borne and other vector-borne diseases”
